E. C. Goodwin Vocational Technical High School

Downes Construction was selected by the State of Connecticut for this comprehensive renovation and additions to the principle Vocational/Technical school in Central Connecticut. The school trains many of the manufacturing and construction trades people for the region, and provides a career path for many local kids whose higher education options are limited by economics.

The planning and phasing of work is very complicated, with new additions proposed in six locations. The school will continue to operate on a normal class schedule, requiring a sophisticated coordination plan to maintain the safety and security of occupants during construction.
